The CD highlights music of South America and Brazil with compositions that are rarely performed and recorded: The beautiful three movement Sonatina in g minor by Carlos Guastavino - one of Argentinas most beloved composers of the 20th century; three Brazilian dances- a Tango, Polka and Waltz by the "Scot Joplin" of Brazil, Ernesto Nazareth; and finally, the CD closes with the Danzas Argentinas by Alberto Ginastera. The sensuous and sometimes sentimental melodies along with the South American rhythms make this a delightful listening experience.
