Synopsis

Album Description
"Waiting for the Water" is a return the deep wells of rural blues, folk and gospel. Pat's original songs sit comfortably along side covers of songs played by Skip James, Fred McDowell, Son House, and Dock Boggs. The recording features Rich Deans' haunting Civil War soldier's lament, "Don't Dig My Grave Too Deep," Pat's gospel-tinged "Love Is the Water," and Pat's country lullaby, "Sleep Easy."

Strong, Resonant Songwriting
Wayfaring Stranger | Portland, OR | 02/28/2006
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Pat Wictor has a strong talent for composition. His songs are well-wrought and, on most tracks, his sense of lyricism comes shining through. I believe this is due heavily to his self-assured finger-picking style and the complement of beautiful voices he sets up behind his own. All in all, a very nice album of acoustic music by an enlightened singer-songwriter. I certainly plan to check his progress in the near future."
