2008 release, the first time on CD for this album from the Canadian Rock/Blues guitarist, originally released in 1982. Moving to the UK in the early '70s, Travers made a name for himself as a top notch guitarist who blended Hard Rock and Blues into a musical stew. Concentrating on the U.S. market in the late '70s, Travers reached his commercial peak with a slew of great albums including Black Pearl. Nine tracks. Lemon Records.

"I've been listening to a worn out cassette tape of Black Pearl since its release back in the early 80's. This release is a dream come true.This album kicks serious butt. It's too bad that it didn't get much exposure. True PT fans and guitar lovers will relish in the riffs presented here. "Amgwanna Kick Booty" is classic hard core Travers at its best."The Fifth" takes Beethoven to new heights as Hendrix's redition of the "Star Spangled Banner" did. I don't care if there is any noise due to reproduction. It's so much better than what I had. This is a true PEARL! Don't miss it."

"The last PT album worthy of any tie to the beginning. This one has been out of print for SOOO long. Amgwannakick booty (piano included!) is PT at his best from the old school shat. I'd rather see you dead is a PT epic as well. The rest is just ok. This perspective is based on pre crash and burn style PT. Worth a buy for sure."
