"Pat Donohue kicks off this effort with a display of his acoustic guitar prowess. He is a solid picker, clean with good tone and can whip out a lot of notes in a short time. Nonetheless, it never sounds like he is doing just to do it. There is always a theme and the songs go somewhere instead of just being a vehicle to show off.

He also shows his skill at creating melodies, tasty blues numbers, a slide number and then throws in a couple interesting cover tunes. But most of the material he wrote, himself. There is a lot of variety on this disc. And as the title implies its all acoustic, no accompaniment and no singing. Just my kind of CD. A couple tunes, including the slide number, are on a resonator guitar, a nice change up in the sound.

Also, the CD clocks in at 63 minutes, very nice! Only complaint is that liner notes are non-existent, I like to read about the guitar played for the tune, maybe the tuning employed. Minor issue.

Also, go see him live if you get the chance.

"I think it's a very good record. The kind of guitar playing that Pat performs on this album is not heard very much these days and in a sense appears to be almost a lost art form. Don't get me wrong there are others

but not many i'm aware of who can play this way. And even compared to other players in this kind of music he is a standout. Also I would like to

say if you like this record also try his "American Guitar" album. It's also a wonderful record."
