Search - Passenger :: Getting There

To quickly describe Passenger?s music I would call it ?Rhythm and Blues fusion?. More specifically one could say that Grateful Dead, James Brown, Little Feat, Neville Brothers, Steely Dan, Parliament/Funkadelic, Santana, John Scofield, Motown, Bob Dylan, Miles Davis, Bob Marley, Frank Zappa, Allman Brothers, Bill Withers, Van Morrison, Stevie Wonder and others of that ilk, have had a profound influence on this music. The first song on the disc is a cover of Bill Withers? ?Ain?t No Sunshine. An original song that seems to be getting a lot of attention is track #7, ?The Golfing Song?. Track #11 ?I Need New Shoes? is also getting a lot of attention from the DJs and programmers that are spinning this disc. I think all the songs are very accessible. You?ll see what I mean when you hear it. There are also 5 bonus tracks at the end of the disc that are instrumental versions of some of the songs. These might be more applicable to jazz radio.
