Synopsis

Product Description
Two years after the release of their debut full length, Pash have returned with their sophomore effort the best gun . This album reveals a group of musicians who have grown significantly as songwriters. Recorded by Jason Caddell (the dismemberment plan) at Inner Ear Studios, the best gun is eleven new tracks of pure Pash. Pash manage to channel the best of 90 s pop heroes like Velocity Girl and Belly while at the same time conjuring the likes of late Richmond DIY superstars Marion Delgado and Flashbulb Memory. Never timid, singer Merideth Munoz s vocal lines are clear and strong and her lyrics both subtle and forward. Lead guitarist Erik Bruner-Yang delivers impressive and complex melodies that turn on a dime. New bassist Ryan McLaughlin provides the solid underpinning demanded of him without writing boring, nondescript parts and drummer Jon Bibb is as spot-on as ever.

It will get stuck in your head

"i got to see Pash open up for Stars a couple weeks ago. they played probably 3 songs. at first i was skeptical of them, but by the end of their short set i was convinced that i wanted to buy their cd. and man o man am i glad i did.

or maybe not... because i can't stop listening to it! its been on repeat pretty much since i saw them.

the songs are very catchy. the guitar work is creative and adds a lot to the depth of the music. The singer's voice is also right on. its a perfect blend of pop and rock. it even has a bit of a breeders/belly feel to it... i'm not sure how to really explain that one.

the one down side to this album is sometimes the lyrics are a bit amateur. in the parts of songs that you really want to feel something, the lyrics don't really get you there.

highlights on the cd are "the best gun", "down", and "abcd".

if you like melodic, energetic, indie pop rock... then find yourself a copy of this cd.

i'm looking forward to future release from this band. theres no telling how good they can be once they're a bit more seasoned."
