Synopsis

Product Description
Tilt offers something that?s just a bit different and integrates elements that somehow reach every listener in their own unique way. Though defined primarily as ?roots rock meets power pop?, Tilt marches in its own direction and often defies categorization while deftly blending numerous styles and influences into a very listenable and emotive collection of songs. Overcurve is the brainchild of singer/songwriter, producer and all-around studio wiz John ?JD? Stefan and his evocative vocals and introspective lyrics populate the band?s sonic landscape in shimmering, tight arrangements created by bassist/keyboardist Jim Stair, drummer Doug Reagin and guitarist Brian Coykendall. According to JD, ?Tilt was a much more collaborative project than the first (self-titled) CD. We felt very strongly that we wanted to make something together that we?d all be proud of even if it meant making some decisions by committee. We somehow encapsulated everything that Overcurve has been over the years into a collection of 12 songs and it all works.? JD helmed a truly ?do it yourself? recording process by utilizing several locations and tracking everything through his computer using a digital audio program. Countless mini recording sessions took place as various parts were tracked at different times and the album was brought to its conclusion at well-known Plant Studios in Sausalito, CA. Overcurve has left us a gem of an album that takes the listener on a thoughtful and emotional journey. From the opening a capella strains of ?All I Want? to the sonic density that powers the conclusion of ?She Stays?, Tilt offers a little something for just about everyone and when enjoyed under a pair of headphones, can take the listener to a time when, late at night, music was the only thing that mattered. Perhaps it still does...
