Synopsis

Album Description
Nowadays, Donny and Marie are the two Osmonds that most folks remember, but during the Osmonds' heyday in the '70s, Jay, Wayne, Jimmy, Merrill and Alan were just as well known to most teenage girls, TV viewers and radio listeners. This collection features hits from all of the different Osmond combos including Donny & Marie, Little Jimmy, solo Donny, solo Marie and, of course, The Osmonds themselves. Features hits like 'Crazy Horses', 'Love Me For A Reason', 'Down By The Lazy River', 'Deep Purple' and many other great Osmond-related hits. Universal.

Different, not better collection

"With all the Osmonds CDs that have come and gone, there is yet to appear a collection that is truly a comprehensive "greatest hits". This Polygram U.K. import contains only charted hits U.K.-wise, but some of these tracks did not do as well stateside. Noticably missing are some major early Donny hits such as "Sweet and Innocent" and "Go Away Little Girl". Most of the other major hits for the Osmonds - together, solo and duo are represented. About the only distinguishing items here are the appearance of two tracks not found elsewhere - the Donny Osmond "When I Fall In Love" B-side of "Are You Lonesome Tonight" (not included here) and the "Crazy Horses" remix of later. Sound quality is fairly good - as good or better than the domestic CDs available. All tracks except 14 are in stereo. Although a 12-page booklet makes up the liner notes, only three pages of text are here, mostly devoted to the Osmonds touring in the U.K. The remainder is taken by pictures of no particular note and track listings. While containing a generous 24 tracks and a few otherwise seldom found Osmond tunes, the hefty price tag on this piece make it a marginal selection for most Osmond music purchasers."
