With the recent release of the classic TV series starring Mike Connors on DVD, we figured now was the time to reissue Lalo s stunning soundtrack work for the series, which, with its kinetic blend of crime-jazz and late- 60s funk, soundtrack aficionados count every bit as crucial as his smash Mission: Impossible Theme! Mind you, this is not the late- 70s, disco-fied re-record Lalo did for the Aleph label this is the ORIGINAL soundtrack on the Paramount label, which anticipated his excellent scores for the detective thrillers Dirty Harry and Bullitt. We ve added original notes to the great ones that graced the LP release, too.

Finally, the REAL Mannix

"Collector's Choice has finally given us the reissue of the original television score to Mannix. It is a delight to relive this music after all these years. The original liner notes from the LP are included as well. The sound is surprisingly good for a recording that, I am guessing, had few rehearsals (sometimes the trombones are just on this side of struggling with their parts). Still, it brings back a lot of memories. While some of the tunes sound dated (and others do not), it only adds to the charm of this release!"

"Prior to this CD purchase, I had scoured used record stores looking for the original sound track album, but could not find one. In 2005 I heard about the new release, but wasn't quite the same. I bought it and we enjoyed listening to it.

Now that I am computer literate I was able to find an original Mannix soundtrack album on e-bay. I recorded the album to my own CD. The record which was actually a new, old stock record was never opened / played.

When the CD of the original sound track came out I thought I'd get that too. I guess with the popularity of the Mannix TV Shows on DVD, they probably felt the old record should be re-issued on CD.

It sounds great. I really didn't remember much of the music from the 60's TV Show but it sounds wonderful to hear it now."
