"Always on a search for new, interesting musical theatre recordings, I sought this out after seeing a production in Nashville, TN. Tired of folks that think there are limits to what can be made into a musical (my rejoinder to that is almost always Sweeney Todd), I'll admit that I wasn't sure what to expect. Never having seen the Joan Crawford flick, would I get the joke? Not to worry - the cast delivers in spades, tongues firmly planted in cheeks. The performances are campily over the top, and are layered over solid vocals. Certainly recommended to any looking for something different in the world of musical theatre."
