Synopsis

Album Description
LUCID is the result of over a year's worth of production and composition. The goal: to produce a drum and bass album using live instruments instead of the usual synths and modules. We began with live drums--some sampled from old vinyl, some played live in the studio. Then we added the funky, upright bass of David Hughes (bassist for Los Angeles' "Jazz Crusaders"). For texture: rhodes piano, strings, acoustic and electric guitars, tablas, duggis, and even a didgeridoo were used--then tweaked to create the otherwordly, yet strangely familiar sounds of the Organic Resonance Project. If you are a drum and bass fan, this is an album to check out. We've got all angles covered--in a fresh new way. Sometimes jazzy, at other times dark and atmospheric, the LUCID e.p. is a well-crafted sonic journey featuring some incredible musicianship. Check it out!

My Best Kept Secret!!!
Paul | 10/04/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"i've been listening to this thing for like two weeks now and i can't get enough of it! this isn't dnb for the weak of heart... this is really LIVE. the bass playing is ridiculous (david hughes) he's a major player on the west coast jazz scene. i dig the fact that these guys created electronic music out of pretty much all natural, acoustic and organic sounds... i can't tell that there's much on this cd that was completely synthesized, it's all rich n' earthy. but the combination of the bassist's jazz feel and the hard core drum breaks is refreshing... i've listened to it all, i won't go into it all here... but this is new and creative stuff. if you're craving something that's really on the edge check out this cd. if you indulge in some herbal refreshments and close your eyes for the last couple tunes i swear you'll be flying thru the cosmos in no time..."
