Synopsis

Product Description
Each organ work on this disc is based on Gregorian Chant. The Chant is sung before or in alternatim with the organ work on which it is based.
Dr. Jennifer Pascual, Music Director at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in New York City, plays some of the greatest music created for the organ that is based on Gregorian Chant.
The works by Dupre, Durufle and Guilmant are presented here as they would have been heard in the Roman Catholic liturgy before Vatican II.
Dr. Pascual has prodigious keyboard skills and gives definitive performances of these works. She also conducts the men of the choir in the Gregorian Chant that is heard on this CD.
The CD comes with a 32-page booklet that contains detailed program notes, an interview with Dr. Pascual, a well-researched history of the organs at Saint Patrick's Cathedral, a full stoplist and numerous photographs.
