Serene music, ideally played with stunning sound quality

"This collection of pieces is ideally suited for late night listening. While most pieces are quiet and meditative in nature, the range of periods performed make for a variety of emotional experience. If I had to restrict myself to one organ disc, this would probably be it. The performer plays every piece tastefully and is committed to letting the music speak for itself. These are ideal performances.The sound quality is as good as it gets. I can hear and feel the low rumble of the bellows in the quietest passages, as if I am at the keyboard myself...Stunningly realistic recording, and at the price it is an unbelievable bargain. I don't believe I've ever seen a disc featuring such a panopoly of composers; but if that dissuades you, keep in mind the unifying meditative nature of most of the pieces. The organ itself is sweet on the ears, without any 'edginess' that sometimes comes through on digital recordings. I really can't say enough good things about this disc. I shall return to it many times when reading or in a contemplative mood."
