Fine playing from a renowned artist, interesting organ

"Christopher Herrick's "Organ Fireworks" series has provided a great deal of fun listening for people who love organ music. Some of the organs used are better than others. This is one of the good ones, and the playing is lively throughout. Herrick's repertoire is vast and very eclectic, here including a major Bach work but also a large-scale transcription of the Brahms "Academic Festival Overture." The latter makes this a particularly special release. Honestly, if you are only going to buy one of the series, buy Volume III (Saint-Eustache, Paris), where the theatrical repertoire and the overwhelming organ make that the star of the series, but again, this volume is excellent."
