CD Reviews

Great neo classical power metal
inyoface_blkjck | East Wakefield, New Hampshire United States | 12/31/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Does LMP EVER put out a bad band? nope! This is Oratory, describing themselves as "Neo-Classical Melodic Power Metal with male and female vocalists" its true alright. Although its very different. A lot of power metal I listen to has the bass drum on the ques of the super fast guitar riff. Not so with these guys, rarely on this cd does the drummer have super fast pounding double bass. And the guitars are not super heavy or super fast. but its not a bad thing. it only adds to their sound. These guys sound to me like Stratovarius VS Theatre Of Tragedy. What really sets these guys apart are the female and male vocalists. It really adds some diversity to their sound. Although the guy vocalist on my opinion, does steal the spotlight a little. The keyboards are very important with these guys. they do add a dreamy backdrop to the music while adding in solos here and there. The song structures are really awesome. "With Glory And Melody" "Fight For The Light" "Kingdom's Legacy", are in my opinion, the best songs. almost all the choruses are really catchy. All in all, this is a great power metal cd. the vocalists are great, and the instruments really add uniqueness to their sound. I can't really compare these guys to anybody really. Check em out, see if you like them. I hope I was somewhat helpful."
