20 stars! Get this DVD of a live performance!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Orange Pekoe is now my all-time favorite band (I've collected thousands of recordings over 35 years in many different music styles). They are a Japanese band with a strong Brazilian flavour, fronted by a charismatic female singer and a great guitarist. (I think he's also the composer and arranger.)

The CD has just a few songs, but they are killers as always. The real treat here is the DVD of 8 songs performed live. When I put it on, I couldn't take my eyes off the screen - mesmerizing! 2 backup singers, 2 drummers, percussionist, horn section, keyboards, stand-up bass, and more. On some songs they are accompanied by a live string section and more horns.

The musicianship is superb - watch the organist, the drummers, the bass player, the sax players - watch everyone! This is as tight as a band can get.

The production values of the DVD are first-class - very professional camera and editing work. Note that it's made for the Asian DVD standard (not NTSC), but it will at least play in your computer.

The music of Orange Pekoe - and the music on this CD and DVD set in particular - make me happy these days like nothing else. It's like mainlining sunshine. If you like jazzy bossa/samba music with a fabulous lady singer, with a good-sized ensemble backing her perfectly, pay any price to get this set! Go to Japan yourself and scour all the street stores if it sells out in the US, it's woth the international airfare!"
