Synopsis

Album Description
"Right now, it's all about making this record we just put out (CHROME), bigger, better, and more widely heard than the last." States singer / guitarist Jesse. The history of OAZ, is however a bit more in depth. After showcasing for major labels and playing big shows like the Vans Warped Tour and the Triple Crown of Snowboarding as the S.F based rockers EMPTY, Rocky and Jesse, with two other members, parted ways when the whole thing came crashing down. "In hind sight, I know I handled things on pure emotion", adds Jesse, "I had poured every idea I had into that band, and wanted to take it to the next level. It didn't happen for us, and we watched as other people we knew got the break we were after. It killed the fun of it all right there at that time". What was born from the aftermath of that breakup was a new attitude, and a pure approach to making music. With distance and time, Rocky and Jesse would regroup and refocus their efforts on something entirely new." Jesse had put together some demos that were really different than what we had been doing," says Rocky, "There were a lot more groove oriented ideas there, and the addition of Synth programming and loops were compelling". The two former band mates got together and began rehearsing the new songs, and the name Ones and Zeros was coined. Partially based on the idea that a lot of the music was computer driven, and partially based on the Yin Yang concept. "Even though we were building ideas on computers, it would be nothing without a real 24" kick drum pounding in your face, and a Les Paul tearing through a Marshall to bring it all home" adds Jesse. "Of course there is always the obvious sexual innuendo that underlies with the image of a one and a zero, but that plays into the yin yang thing, you cant have without the other". Two Full Length Albums, a few small tours, and five years later, OAZ are going stronger than ever by way of their new CD entitled "CHROME". With production help from "Faith no More" founder Billy Gould, and Mastering engineer Ron Rigler of Primus fame, this record is a sonic soundscape that brings the listener into what OAZ are all about. Big beats, loud guitars, and songs you can bring home to meet your mom while still feeling like your breaking the rules
