Kryptonite ain't no thang.

"The latest album from the Albany, NY based rock band Ominous Seapods once again solidifies their place at the top of the North Country Freak Rock Movement. The Seapods produce music that fuses together a variety of genres to create a unique sound (like a fine rum punch) attracting a loyal and ever-growing fan-base. They are a true-to-life rock 'n roll band, mama. With the Super Man Curse, the Seapods have created an album that invites a broader audience in for a listen. Since the Seapods are considered a "jamband" many people automatically assume that every song will require a long attention span with loose and noodling melodies that float around and around and back and forth. One should not assume so quickly. The Seapods have always shown that they are capable to not only produce "jammy" material, but also more quick-and-to-the-point songs. All of which are the highest quality. What cannot be substituted by any top-40-average-commercial-radio band is the Seapods' unique sense of humor that carries through their music and lyrics (ie- Track 8: Bong Hits & Porn). Songs are incredibly well-written, and can be compared to the authorship of such respected musicians as God Street Wine, moe., Pavement, and Wilco. The Super Man Curse has "hook", do not mistake it for opium.Purchase several of these albums. From the hula-hooping gobis, to the Frank Zappa listening mutants- all of your friends are going to want one."
Good last effort

"I've seen these guys play live a number of times and they're just a ton of fun and have one of the strongest rhythm sections. When Max V. left I think they kept the fires burning pretty well though I do believe their song writing changed a bit and I'm not convinced it's for the better. Max put alot of soul into their music which added depth to otherwise pure fun. Still, "Curse" is exactly that...alot of fun. Basic sonic rock fare that definitely gets better with each listen. I tend to go back to this cd over and over and it doesn't get tired. Not their best..."Jet Smooth Ride" has that honor but a strong album nonetheless."
