CD ReviewsTHE BEST!!!!! 12/29/2006 (5 out of 5 stars) "You don't have to be an experienced musician to recognize good music. This is good music! I would definately say that I am a beginner to the world of opera, and thus far, Les Contes d'Hoffmann is by far my favorite. The musicians make everything believable. When I listen to it, I can imagine everything that's happening. There is one minus, though. There is no libretto. I have seen some reviewers of this series give harsh criticism to the lack of the libretto. I say, "NO BIG DEAL!" You can download the libretto free of charge on EMI's website. I've listened to it with the libretto, and I find my eyes spend more time searching for the words than listening to the music. Download it, and listen to your recording with the libretto once or twice and then forget about it. The plot summary that does come with it gives enough info to spur your memory to what's happening. The music is what's important, and I is excellent music. BUY IT ALREADY!!!!"
