"Diana Doherty from Australia is one of the top oboists in the world. She took first prize in Prague (ahead of Francois Leleux) and has a beautiful dark sound. She plays with flair and handles the selections here with ease. Unfortunately this CD appears to be out-of-print. If you want to hear more of Diana Doherty, she has a more recent recording of Romantic oboe concerti:
