CD Reviews

Best hip-hop album ever... period!
Jonathan Friden | 01/17/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It seems to be a social custom not to declare any album better than Illmatic. Well, what if there are other albums out there that most people never heard of? I would say there are at least a handfull of albums out there better than illmatic, including Nas' own It Was Written. The Word...Life album by O.C. though, it doesn't even seem real. Take O.C., one of the illest lyricists, and match him with Buckwild, one of the illest (and my personal favorite) producers and what you end up with is the best hip-hop album of all time, undoubtedly. Every track is magnificent and to this day I have not found an album that comes close to comparing in replay value. I've had this on repeat for years now and still listen to it all the time. Everything about this album screams classic, obviously from the music but also the theme and even the album cover. This album is unbelievable. If you consider yourself a hip-hop fan then you MUST buy this. Don't take my word for it. Buy the album, press play, and thank me later.

"You ask with a sass, regardless, O.C. lives!""
The Album Is A Classic But The Cd Is Garbage!!!

"There is nothing to say about this album's excellence musically and lyricaly that hasn't been said before...however I happen to own both the re-issues of Word...Life (the 18 tracks one by the label Next.Mill Entairtainment/Mushine.Inc in 2007 & the 14 tracks one by the label Wild Pitch in april 2008) and both cd's are garbage cause they have been pressed out of mp3's.
If you buy those versions you will for sure throw your money away...cause a simple Audiochecker will show you that in both cases all the tracks on those albums are Mpeg (Mp3's) except the track 8 that is Cdda on both versions."
