NOVEMBER 6 STREET is the new band from musical cardshark Ron Franklin, a self-taught multi-instrumentalist based in Memphis who's past bands include The Natural Kicks, The Entertainers, as well as a brief stint with Love and the late Arthur Lee. The band is named after a Memphis alleyway that darts around the old WDIA Goodwill Station where outlaws, bicycle cops, gutterniks, carny types, blues singers, rolling thunder alumni, and women of infamous repute meet. For Memphis outsiders, it is a meeting point, a place of solitude. NOVEMBER 6 STREET, the band, makes a bunch of electronic popular beat noise, call it blues, folk, garage, it's a whole mess of alleyway songs, bottleneck manifestos and harmonica confessions. NOVEMBER 6 STREET is the band's self-titled debut long playing record. They are totally righteous, man.
