A Chronicle OF The Early Years

"Nosferatu have always been more accurately "Gothic" than most bands in the genre. Their lyrics read like low-rent Poe, Byron, or Anne Rice, & their music is thick with church organs, harpsichords, & choir sounds. I was completely enamored of their subsequent release RISE, so I took the effort to track this LEGEND CD down. For the most part I really like it, especially considering how hard it is to find modern Goth bands that sound like this. But I must mention that the production on many of these tracks is terrible, some even seem like they might've been mastered right off of vinyl. The songs themselves are excellent, & I really wish they'd get around to re-doing a few of the more obscure numbers ("Wicca Man", "Abominations"). All in all, If you dig RISE, you really must get this one."

"Maybe I'm bit older than some of you kids because this is the only Nosferatu I know. The Prophecy was a good cd but I was so disapointed with "Prince" I returned it, and aparently "Rise" must be out of print, which is the most important cd they put out. Fortunately there are three songs from Rise that are on this album. Dark Angel, Siren and Vampyres Cry, but every song on this cd is truly great."
One of the Best

"In the last ten years goth music has gone in many directions.. But what's out there for those of us who don't much care for all the changes? This cd is one of the few that retains what was promising about the genre. This band takes everything the genre has to offer and wraps it up in one tight package.. Lyrics, sound, aesthetic, etc.. it's all found right here. There is a lil Sisters of Mercy sound in a few songs but that's a good thing. If you're new to the "goth" thang.. this cd should be added.. 'Pictures of Betrayal', 'Dark Angel', 'Vampyres Cry', 'inside the devil' are just a few of the reasons why this is a must get. Rise is the next.. then stop there b'cause what came after these two cd's just wasn't the same..."
