So we have "Bitter Sweet" 1929 Peggy Wood and George Metaxa are right up my alley. The recording quality is excellent and for my ear she has a fabulous voice. Then "Calvacade" 1931, "Conversation Piece" 1934 which was the real reason I bought this CD being a big Yvonne Printemps fan. Oh to have been present all at one of her performances. And we still then have a 2nd CD to go! Hours of wonderful listening await you here if this style of music is your thing. To me even though the shows go back nearly 80 years the tracks sound as good today as back then. And to get it all in one package, 2 CDs! I can see mine getting a lot of listening." |
