Synopsis

Album Description
This album, released on March 6th 2004 is undoubtedly the most exciting Nine Mile album to date. With a pocketful of new songs, Nine Mile recently wrapped up production of their new full-length album with Canadian producer Dave Draves. Draves has secured a grand reputation due to his recent involvement with Kathleen Edwards? (recently named one of Rolling Stone Magazine?s 10 Most promising new artists) album Failer. Nine Mile, like Edwards, recorded Close To Touch independently in Canada with Draves.

CD Reviews

Music to Groove To...
Enrique | NYC | 11/29/2004
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Saw this band at Joe's pub in NYC and had to buy the CD. Their original tunes blended with subtle reggae undertones are refreshing and great to groove to. The band's passion for their music is evident and their unique approach to percussion gives their vibe a unique sound."
Make sure to check these guys out!

"This is a great album and I recommend it to everyone. This is a very polished and "produced" album where their live shows are much more stripped down with just a singer/guitarist and percussionist. I can honestly say that of the 11 tracks, I love 9 of them and the other 2 are growing on me. There is tremendous emotion in the songwriting and especially in the lead singer's voice. If you want to hear some good, quality independent music, give this disc a chance and you won't be disappointed. It's nice to have an alternative to the overplayed, overhyped crap on the radio. This is true talent and musicians doing this because they love music. These guys are from Toronto and their music is spreading, I've learned about them living in Salt Lake City. My kids love it too. If you like it, get the word out! www.nine-mile.com

Outstanding!!!!!

"Just a fantastic album!! I've seen this Canadian artist live several times and their live performance is as good as the album. The more I listen to the album the more I like it. I would compare the style of the music to that of Jack Johnson and Ben Harper and to a lessor extent John Mayer. It's just a matter of time before these guys break through big-time. Highly recommended if you like a folksy rock kind of album that's easy listening yet catchy."
