CD Reviews

A definate classic
Richard Morsley | Australia | 12/25/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"An album of excellent cover versions of classic songs. Each one interpreted with genuine heart felt delivery as if written and sung for the first time by Nina Simone. The arrangements are tasteful, not overblown and compliment her unique voice. Nina Simone's versions of these timeless songs are better than the originals. Once played, you just want to play it over again. I have been listening to this recording for over 20 years and do not tire of it. Play this album over a romantic dinner for two. This really is a classic album."

"This edition of 'Here Comes The Sun' is a newly remastered import, that sounds great!, Nina here gives some very soulful and emotional readings of some well known classics."

"This CD is sourced from various live performances, no locations or dates given. So at least you know it isn't a compilation of different studio recordings...."
