Welcome to soundtrack songs circa 1986 - 2.5 stars and that'

"Man, when listening to this album it reminded me so much of the sorts of generic rock 'n' roll songs you would of heard on, say, some sort of Eddie Murphy action-comedy flick in the mid 80's or perhaps in the background to some driving scene in something like Ferris Buellers day off. Now that's not always a total dead loss, I mean there are worse fates right?

I guess what caught me by surprise is that this came up as a suggestion here on Amazon when I was looking up hard rock and metal bands with female vox and - given the cover art this seemed to fit the bill. I thought that maybe it was a long lost/deleted hard AOR gem that had passed me by. Alas it was not, as I've pointed out, this sounds like a bunch of 80's soundtrack songs with plenty of keys, overt attention to love and .... well the tracklist is;

1- #1 House Rule

2- Let Me Be Your Only Girl

3- If You Love Me

4- I've Finally Found Someone

5- Don't Change

6- Say You'll Be Mine

7- In The Night Time

8- Your Love Is All I Need

9- Hang On To Your Loving

And really, had I seen that track listing I'd of known I was getting an outdated wimpfest. The cover and booklet contains next to no biographical information except stuff you don't wanna hear, like who did the drum and keyboard programming (yep, it's pretty much all fake stuff here kids) and for a 1990 release this is terribly naive stuff. Yet that cover art... it certainly makes for a szhizophrenic bunch of signals for the listener. And I know that there isn't an image at present on this listing, but if you just type in Nightcat with 'all departments' you'll get this release but also comic books or something like that.... the scantily clad lass perched on a building on that is cut down for the cover here. (sorry, aint' dun got no scanner, like).

As Forrest Gump would say - "That's all I have to say about that.""
