CD Reviews

An upbeat album with a unique sound

"A bit of stereolab, a bit of st. germaine, and bit of ambient. A very difficult album not to like. Don't blame yourself, a little while, and home are the highlights.

The last three tracks are truly great and have that mellow, chill, feel of songs that can be listened to on repeat. Particularly 'home' (the beat that is interjected 2:15 into the track is wonderful on headphones)."
The REAL Deal....

"Although I didn't enjoy "Gone Gone Gone" as much as The New Deal's self-titled debut, it's still an amazing piece of work. The title track, Gone Gone Gone, is an absolute masterpiece, and even those who dislike electronica and techno will find themselves enjoying this song. Other favorites on the album include Home, Episode 7, Homewrecker, and Don't Blame Yourself.

The female vocals on this album are wonderful, but I believe that their presence is one of the reasons I didn't enjoy this album as much. I enjoy The New Deal's music much more without the vocals, and although they included sound bites in their first album, there was no actual singing. Don't get me wrong though, this album is still amazing, and I highly recommend it.

If you're interested in electronica, techno, funk, or jazz, check out The New Deal. I promise you won't be disappointed!"
