CD Reviews

Texas Punk Superstars Only Commercial CD in US
12/16/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"I had the great fortune to see this band open for the Sex Pistols, and enjoyed their concerts with the Clash, Police, Ramones, Roky Erickson and others. They opened for all the premier New Wave/Punk acts going thru Dallas, TX and this CD gives more than a little flavor of their live sound. My Girlfriend is a Rock was a big hit in San Francisco in the single version is redone on this album. They actually could play their instruments but had all the fire and passion of the bands who didn't that were contemporaries. Very highly recommended!"
My dad is making me write this

"He said if I like it then I should write and say so. OK, I like the band. Maybe there not as famous as Eminem or Will Smith but that doesnt mean their not good. I know just because everybody isn't buying doesn't mean its not good...My dad has some cassettes he got when he was young and living in Texas where he is from of the nervebreakers. Sometimes he might get in a mood, kinda silly, kinda angry, he would play it. Then i borrowed it and play it a lot and he got bothered and said I might break it or it might wear out and to leave it along. So finally I can get him to buy me this so I can listen when I want to...I listen to it often. Makes me feel kinda happy and kinda angry. Kinda like my dad acts. I think. Weird huh. Oh, and maybe if the nervebreakers get on cable they will be more famous. I don't know what channel cause maybe mtv won't do it but there are lots of channels and one could do it.

I don't know my favorite song. On the tape there was the one about rooster stew. Its not on the cd but the cd is still good it just doesnt have rooster stew about the momma and the daddy. I like the guitar a lot and I like the sound of the drums. Real rock drums. I think it is a real rock sound."
