CD Reviews

My moniker was left off or I left it off this review.

"I wrote this review and some joker at Amazon put "a kid's review". I posted the comment to the review regarding not being a kid.

Having listened to "Live in New York" and other live shows by Nektar, this is my favorite by leaps and bounds. Even the odd moment or two where they make some real train wreck noise, it's great noise. They are seamless and taking turns leading each other through the roundhouse. Roye's wah pedal gets a good stompin'. Taff is an ocean of organ sounds coming in at high tide and Mo has some Ox like moments on the bass, especially on "King of Twilight" and "Desolation Valley".These two cuts in particular are superior to the studio versions. Power prog I'd call it. They'll lift you to the top of the sonic wave Nektar creates on this disc and toss you onto the beach face first. You'll eat sand and like it! I saw this at a locally owned store but knew nothing about it. I took a chance and was not denied. Nektar was my friend a long time ago and we lost track of each other. I welcome them back to my house"
This is the edition to get

"The original vinyl version (and other CDs) was always a bit misleadingly named, since only the first two tracks on those were from the 1973 Roundhouse show as billed.

This expanded CD release of the Roundhouse show is now clearly the one to get. The 1973 show is now presented in full over two discs, in proper sequence. (The studio tracks on the older editions are missing here but can now be found on the "Unidentified Flying Abstract" archival album.)"
