Nektar - Slightly Dated But Another Solid Release From The B
Steven Sly | Kalamazoo, MI United States | 10/30/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Recycled is one of those albums that never seems to get rated as highly as some of the other works, but I have always enjoyed it. On the negative side this album seems to sound more dated than some of the bands other earlier works. There is defiantly a slight disco / funk influence to be found here and there. This is not as horrible as it sounds, but is very 70's sounding in its nature. The album seems to be somewhat conceptual in nature, although I am not quite sure what it is all about. The album rocks fairly hard in spots, but has a pop element to it too There is plenty of tasty instrumental work on the album. The original lineup of the band is all still here at this point augmented by keyboardist Larry Fast. This is another solid Nektar release."
Nektar's Masterpiece from beginning to end
Michael Sollecito | 03/07/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Agreed, the first half of this recording is one of the greatest Prog epics ever recorded. Although some may disagree the 2nd half of this recording does hold up. Trust me, this heavenly masterpiece continues on past the first half of the disk. There is no need to compare the 1st half with the 2nd. Both are perfect unto them self. Every time I play this disk, I play it to completion. This is Nektar's Masterpiece Recycled. The whole disk is a Masterpiece. Some call the 2nd half Prog-Disco. Come on now, how can anyone mention Nektar and Disco in the same breath. This is Recycled, not Saturday Night Fever. 5 stars, never a dull moment from beginning to end. Buy this Music."
