Pinchas Zukerman and Marc Neikrug first met in 1973, when the violinist commissioned the composer to create a work for him. Since then they have performed as a duo on every continent (except Antarctica), and have made nearly 30 recordings together -- a testament to their special artistic chemistry. The dozen years between 1982 and 1994 saw the birth of the three vibrant Neikrug works collected on this recording, which all feature the violin in a prominent role, and are all ideally suited to the unique sound and sensibilities of Pinchas Zukerman (who also happens to be the composer's best friend).
