CD Reviews

Fantastic!!!

"Natassa just keeps getting better and better. Just when you think she can't outdo herself, she pulls out another winner. Her first effort (Natassa Theodoridou-1997) was just outstanding. She followed up with (Defteri Agapi-1998), and (Tha Miliso Me T' Asteria) in 2000. "Yp' Efthini Mou"-2001 blows the cork off the bottle and in my opinion is her best effort to date. 17 great songs, superbly arrange and sung to perfection. I would really like to give this 7 stars or so, but 5 will have to do. There are precious few singers around today who can match up with Natassa Theodoridou; Kalliopi Vetta is one and Mando would be another. You would do well to add "Yp' Efthini Mou" to your Greek collection as well as Natassa's other three winning CD's. P.S. Beware: You will be playing this CD for weeks, it's that good!!!"
Awesome. Too bad amazon overprices imports

"This CD is absolutely awesome, one of my favourites for several years now. It's a pity Amazon.com overcharges us on imported CDs, this should be $13 and not $24. No wonder people prefer file sharing to being ripped off."

"This is similar in style to her previous release "That Miliso Me Ta Asteria"in 2000;her 1998 release "Defteri Agapi"[Two Loves]being a bit more traditional. This lady doesn't seem able to produce a dud album,so you don't need to even sample them first before you buy. It's frustrating to see how many later albums she has produced and yet are as scarce as hen's teeth at Amazon or for sale on the internet; and also quite pricey when you can get them.I don't understand the variety of prices listed for this particular album here.I bought mine for about $2[incredible!]and it's exactly the same as that listed at about$26.Weird!Natassa's voice is every bit as good as that of Despina Vandi or Anna Vissi;two more of my favorites.Perhaps even better. The Greek instruments seem to be slightly more authentic sounding on her albums;more Mideastern.I hear more similarities with Arab music too.I won't rest until I have ALL her albums.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED to those who are sick and tired of shallow Western popular music,[with the exception of Heavy Metal]!Greek music is some of the deepest music I've ever listened to.With a 4000 year pedigree that wouldn't be surprising."
