Synopsis

Album Description
Digitally remastered edition of the sole album release by the infamous Murry Wilson, father of The Beach Boys' three Wilson brothers. The Many Moods Of Murry Wilson is a suite of orchestral Pop instrumentals, including a Brian Wilson production, a cover of 'Warmth Of The Sun', an Al Jardine original and material written by Wilson Snr. himself. Recorded in LA in 1967, this album is an intriguing insight into the mindset of this unique, much discussed character of legend. A must for any Beach Boys fan or collector, the album is presented here in its very rare stereo mix and packaged in a digipak with an eight page booklet containing comprehensive sleeve-notes and info. Cherry Red. 2009.

How Much of a Die-Hard Are You?
Kenneth French | Montclair, NJ | 11/21/2002
(1 out of 5 stars)

"Let's face it. The only people who would even consider buying this are the most die-hard Beach Boys fanatics. An even they will not play it more than a few times. This is near-Muzak, with nothing indicating any connection to the Beach Boys except a few writing credits (Brian's "Warmth of the Sun," Al Jardine's "Italia"). As for me, I found a used LP of it in Albany some years back (and haven't listened to in over a decade); I'll stick to that."
Great Album!

"This is not supposed to be a Brian Wilson/Beach Boys Album, this is a Murry Wilson Album. If you take it for what it is it is great. You can see where Brian gets his sense of melody. It's beatiful, soft relaxing music."
Space Age Bachelor Pad Music!

(4 out of 5 stars)

"Murry Wilson was the dad of the three Wilson brothers and uncle to Mike Love. He was able to get ONE elpee record album recorded due to ties to The Beach Boys. After that, there are no real ties to The Beach Boys.

This is an album of lounge music, Space Age Bachelor Pad, E-Z Listening Pop, whatever you want to call it. It's lush, soft, romantic, very lightweight but melodic and atmospheric music. There are people who really like this kind of thing! If you like it, you'll probably really enjoy the album.

Sit back and relax with a nice martini, shaken not stirred, and enjoy the soft soothing sounds."
