CD Reviews

Best performance of Mozart's Symphonia Concertante

"This CD, recorded in the early 1960-ies is a real treasure. Beside Menuhin's superb performance, it has something really unique - Barshai's Viola playing that is the greatest viola playing that I have ever heard! His rare recording truly makes this CD one of the best releases of Mozart's music, especially Symphonia Concertante."
I have been looking for a great violin concertos CD, and...

"here it is! this edition is so worthy of Mozart's divinity -- and its cost is remarkably reasonable. Menuhin is a wonderful talent, and his unique classical style (as opposed to the perlman romantic Mozart) is fantastic, and brings so much to the vibrant concertos. this is a bargain! i cannot believe i found such a great group of the concertos at such a great price! yet, here's a tip: do not buy this CD for the Sinfonia Concertante -- it's not nearly as superb as the Anne-Sophie Mutter version conducted by Marriner. But, for the concertos, buy this CD!"

"There is no need to talk about this product. Just buy and enjoy. Superb performance. Although the recording is ADD, it sounds like DDD. I do recommend it to all Mozart fans."
