Through its many concerts, recordings, and broadcasts, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra became internationally established as a virtuoso body quite unlike any other orchestra, founding a unique tradition in which there was a combination of discipline, flexibility, individual artistry, and virtuosity. One of the most respected British conductors of Mozart, Jane Glover was from 1984 to 1991 Artistic Director of the London Mozart Players. She has conducted the London Philharmonic (with whom she made the recording of violin concertos by Richard Strauss and Christopher Headington which was shortlisted for the 1992 Brit Awards), the Royal Philharmonic, London Symphony, Royal Scottish National, Philharmonia, and English Chamber Orchestra.
