CD Reviews

I love all of Mozart's operas
09/11/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Sure the "mature" operas are "better," but ahhh, those delightful early ones. Like a face full of sunshine. I aim to buy them all. This performance is wonderful so I'd recommend it."
Pure delight
John Cragg | Delta(greater Vancouver), B.C Canada | 02/03/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)

"One would not expect very much from very early Mozart, and it does not stand up to the later masterpieces. That said, this opera is a very pleasant as well intriguing work, as delightful as any contempoary buffa operas with which I am familiar with the possible exception of those by Haydn. This is a very good recording with strong voices and a good flow and presentation of the music."
Fun comedy, clear and delightful.......
Sam | Seahurst, Washington | 09/21/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Schreier's version replaces the earlier, Orfeo full-priced set from Leopold Hager, particularly when it comes at mid-price on two discs instead of three. The digital recording is wonderfully clear, with a fine sense of presence, capturing the fun of the comedy. Ann Murray has never sung more seductively in Mozartthan here as Giacinta, and the characterful Barbara Hendricks is a delight in the central role of Rosina."
