Dancing with Mozart

"These are marvelous performances of Mozart's golden dances. Written late in his career, they are mature, warm, convivial expressions of Mozart's genuine fondness for people and social gatherings. Thoroughly saturated with Mozart's exquisite gift for melody, radiantly elegant and brimming with grace and charm, this Naxos issue of the German Dances is hard to resist. Listening to this beautiful dance music, you can imagine a candlelit ballroom filled with lovely ladies and gentlemen, the punch flowing freely - a genuinely festive occasion graced by Mozart's glittering genius.

These are unmistakably magical Mozartean tunes, joyous yet refined, delicious, heartfelt, and of course, absolutely beautiful, warmly executed with the perfect amount of geniality by the talented members of the Capella Istropolitana. This excellent group of musicians, among Bratislava's finest, was formed in 1983 by members of the Slovak Philharmonic Orchestra. They perform with tremendous elegance and outstanding artistic polish.
