"A friend told me about this group, which plays in the New York area mostly, but also in other cities. I saw them one night and they knocked my socks off. I thought, There's no way they can repeat that in the studio, but after I listened to this CD, my socks were knocked off again. And again. This is a band to watch!"
Another Giant Step

"A stellar album. I have been listening to MOYE in various venues whenever I can get the chance over the past couple of years, and I have to say that this album represents another point on their rapid upward trajectory of increasingly soulful and sophisticated playing. At the same time it is nice to see the band relaxing and having fun with their talents (witness Hometown). As a result the album presents a great range of offerings from Olivia to Gaslight to Walked Away and Questioning. 48 Hicks is an apt name for an album which captures the relaxed feel of Brooklyn Heights on a summer afternoon as it rubs up against the boundless intensity of Manhattan. A real winner that won't disappoint."
One of My Favorites

"I'm a huge fan of Wilco, REM, Radiohead, etc. While these guys probably sound most like a mix of Ben Folds Five and Springsteen, if you like any of these bands, you will love moye. This is a great album that any fan of good music will enjoy."
A Musical Meditation

"48 Hicks resonates musicality with rich lyrical tones and a presence rarely found in such independent, first time efforts. Each track is flavored with myriad musical influences from John Coltrane, to Jimi Hendrix and John Lennon. Somehow Moye has been able to meld the electricity of their live shows with stellar production to create a listening treasure. These young men have musically articulated the pain and suffering that independent groups experience through a menial existence, waiting for the break from the tight-collared radio exec. Hopefully they will find a way to pursue their passion and reward their listeners with future musical gifts as good as 48 Hicks."
