Moving Cloud is an Irish quintet that remains resolutely traditional and acoustic. On its self-titled album, the band plays 32 instrumental tunes, many of them taken from Irish-American 78s of the '20s and '30s (including those of Joe Derrane). The whole band plays with the chamber-like precision of the Chieftains, but the main attraction is the twin fiddling of Maeve Donnelly and Manus McGuire, who play the trickiest of parts in dizzyingly close unison. --Geoffrey Himes
