Awe-Inspiring Pop/Punk from Noho?s Finest
Monique D. | Brooklyn, NY, USA | 03/29/2000
(5 out of 5 stars)
"This awe-inspiring trio's collection of melodic pop, edgy rock, and sweet ballads provides a well-rounded overview of the smartest and most provocative band to come out of Northampton, MA since Sebadoh (though their sound has been compared to Excuse 17, Fugazi, and The Smiths-all at once!). At times sexy, reflective, or utterly danceable, Sara, Sara, and Rachel each add their own signature to their songs. The three of them trade off playing instruments, and with their combination of talent and drive, this debut CD is already a classic. These ladies are going to be HUGE."

"Just when I lose faith in the concept of exciting new music, nevermind poppy PUNK music, the Moves come along and rock my world. It's Team Dresch meets the Pixies meets Nirvana meets Sleater-Kinney...the influences are evident but they remain passionate & unique throughout, with great lyrics and an awesome knack for melody. Can't wait for whatever they come up with next."

The best album you've never even heard of
Elad Liebman | Snow Ghost | 08/16/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)
"This album is amazing. An ingenious mixture of post-punk, riot-grrl, indie and pop. The songcraft is concise, yet clever and full of ideas, the guitar work is powerful and impressive (especially if your fond of rough, dirty guitar riffs, thin, punky distortion sound and generally a lo-fi attitude). The album does feel a little rough around the edges, but the potential is remarkable (which is sad, regarding the fact that this band seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth, does anyone know what happened to this band and its members? If you do, tell me, the idea that such a good band can just vanish without leaving a trace is very upsetting to me)."
I know Rachel and love her music
