Synopsis

Album Description
Andalusia has its symbols: amongst them, mauve and gold. Mauve (morao) is the color of the Christ de los Gitanos and Holy Week. The color gold (oro) calls to mind the world of bullfighting, the sand in the arena, the costumes of the bullfighters, and the clothing of the Saints and Blessed Virgins. "Morao" is also the name of one of the oldest, most musical gypsy families in Jerez ? from which Moraíto himself is descended. With this CD Moraíto wished to evoke those two colors, which conjure up his own musical world. Native to Jerez, a real fief of Flamenco, Moraíto is one of the biggest guitarrista or tocaor solo in Flamenco. He succeeded in becoming as great in accompanying cante as he is unique in being a virtuoso soloist.

CD Reviews

I would recommend this to people who are into Sabicas, Paco, and stuff like Tomatito, but wouldn't recommend it to people who just want to buy some Rumba dance stuff (not that there is anything worng with that...) Beautiful album and a shame that outside of Spain he is rather obscure..."
