"Regõ Rejtem is both the title of and the gateway into the sophomore outing by Hungary's The Moon and the Nightspirit. Throughout Regõ Rejtem, band members Agnes Toth and Mihaly Szabo present The Moon and the Nightspirit as a masterful and accomplished duo, in both production and performance. Regõ Rejtem is sold as a DVD-size Digipak CD (Equilibrium Music, 2007) boasting Agnes' paintings throughout, as well as both Hungarian and English versions of the lyrics (written by Mihaly Szabo).

While listening to the nine songs that make up the 42 "minutes of bliss" found on Regõ Rejtem, our ego is gently caressed by wide ranging nymph-like vocals mixed with a "rich and multi-layered, traditional-yet-progressive" folk instrumentation, all while being subliminally reminded of the true and genuine music held in our hands that has yet to be tainted or misused by this world.

The title track "Regõ Rejtem" reads "I conjure with magic" or "I am ecstatic in a trance" when translated into English from ancient Hungarian. Similar to the title, the music is progressive and invigorating, using "magical" time signature changes along with such traditional instruments as the jew's harp to conjure an entrancing (and almost exhausting) access into the realm of The Moon and the Nightspirit.

"Örökké", translated as "Eternally", is a slower number showcasing Agnes' vocal talent and expressiveness along with her ability to create higher levels of sound, much beyond mere words in song.

The sound of rain enters shortly after the halfway point of "Örökké" and continues on through the beginning of "Avarálom", quickly dissipating in order to clear room for the acoustic guitars, strings and woodwinds that make up this well-oiled machine that has more layers than the flaky phyllo dough crust of baklava. The most beautiful and simplistic connotations (e.g. fingers sliding on a fret board) allow Agnes' sweet and enchanting vocals enough room in this very busy, yet perfectly sequenced masterpiece.

"Föld Szive Dobban" is a traditional Hungarian folk "toe-tappin', knee slappin' drinking, dancing and celebrating" song that features, amidst the myriad of layers, a slow and powerful acoustic strumming, angelic vocal harmonization and interesting change-ups. "Powerful and possessing."

The sixth song entitled, "Csillagnász" begins with a sound that is striking similar to the traditional Japanese lullaby "Edo Komoriuta" (Edo Lullaby), which dates back to the 17th century pre-Tokyo "Edo period". Many mental images begin to emanate from this song; imagine a foggy forest strewn with evergreens. Throughout this forest we are seeking what our hearts hold to be true and realistic. What our ears perceive while in this forest, is a pure and majestic invitation to discover and unlock the hidden information contained deep within ourselves.

Regõ Rejtem finishes out strong with the masterful sequencing and mixing of "Rögbl Élet" followed by the crisp, clear sounding eastern guitar, subtle adjustments and pop-sensibility on "Holdtánc"."

"I am not a folk music fan but i love this disc. I listen to a lot of metal and like folk metal i got the digi book version of this CD as i liked the cover art ;-) I was really surprised how much i liked this cd. It is haunting, the other reviews have good descriptions of the music. The art work was also done by a member of this group, it love it. cheers best accidental music find ever."
