CD Reviews

Moody and groovy
thunk | Oakland, CA | 12/25/2008
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This album presents precisely what that title says it will, a bunch of moody and groovy short jams. There is a nice variety of songs here, from down-tempo chillout to ominous to more straight forward crunchy rock. This was my first introduction to Shawn Lee's work, but I really shouldn't be surprised by the quality seeing as how this came out on the consistently dope Ubiquity records label. In terms of personal favorites, I suggest peeping "Indian Summer", "Echo Park", and the seemingly Axelrod inspired "The Chase". If I had one gripe about this album it would be that some of the songs are so dope that I really want to here them go on longer and progress a bit more. But no worries, all the songs on here are definitely complete tracks."
Cool Moods

"Overall this is a pretty good compilation of sounds from Shawn Lee and the Ping Pong Orchestra. My favorite track is Theme from Andrex! If you have his other albums and like his music stylings then this one is worth getting."
