CD Reviews

"Previously Re-Leased Materials!"
Harvey J.Satan | Among The Garden Gnome,Friar Park | 05/06/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Yes...not quite as "NEW",as they would have you believe! The "NEW" liner notes, are reprints from 1999's "Monty Python Encyclopedia" ( Which is more opinion than fact.).The same goes for the "NEW" Terry Gilliam artwork, that is nothing more than someone re-arranging his old artwork. There was also no attempt made to reproduce the original Vinyl version insert with Liner notes, and a selection of faux album releases.

That said...

This IS one of Python's funnier albums. The stream of sub-conciousness surrealism is fully intact. The Bonus tracks seem to be largerly from this era and include versions of several television sketches.(i.e."Blood Devestation Death War & Horror"(mislabelled here),"Mortuary Visit","Flying Fox Of the Yard"( The real ending to "Argument Sketch"),and "Is There?"). "Teach Yourself Heath" is from a hard to find "Flexi-Disc" released in magazines,"The Book Ad","Big Red Bowl","Pepperpots (Part 2)"and "Pellegra" are a series of rare Radio Ads for the release of "Monty Python's Big Red Book".

This C.D.,overlooking the so-called "NEW" liner notes and artwork ,IS worth re-purchasing!"
