Jungle Junk! is Monty's first recording, created mostly on a four track tape machine in his living room. Layered in with the traditional sounds of guitar, piano and percussion are a variety of impromptu instruments and sound effects including cardboard tubes, a sink plug, a biscuit tin and Monty's own nose. The songs use playful language and project a sense of fun from a kid's point of view. From the rollicking "Jungle Junk" to the rocking "Play It on Your Nose" to the just plain goofy "Oddballs Singing a Round," this album definitely has a sound and style all its own.
