CD Reviews

It really grows on you!

"Hey! This is a really awesome CD that gets better every time you listen to it! Very different from their first album. If you're looking for something a little less pop and a little more rock, buy this CD! Here's how I rate the songs: Just Another Phase-I love the guitar! A good song! Bang Bang Boom- a good song but I'm sick of it already. California- An awesome some you can really rock to! Always in my Heart- a really sweet ballad that still actually uses drums Typical-I really like the lyrics and it has good guitars! Walking Behind- Has a good beat-I like the keyboards in this song! Anti-freeze and Aeroplanes- Has really good lyrics but the song is kinda boring. I don't want you to want me-Another good song to rock to! Life on Mars-kinda catchy but it gets boring Who Do You Love- I think this is a really good slow song--one of my favourites on the album Call the Doctor- A good bouncy pop song Spy- Probably the best song on the album!!! Hidden Tracks: Destiny- Very cool but it goes on for a little too long! The Sound Effects song (as I like to call it) Kinda weird but catchy! Overall, the best CD I've heard in a long time!"
An Amazing CD!

"Ok, you know how sometimes, an artist will say that their next album will be more mature, and it never is? Well, that is the complete opposite for the Moffatts. Although their last album was a pop album, Submodalities is a genuine rock CD. Some of the songs, such as Bang Bang Boom and Typical have the commercial pop feel that we're used to, they also have a rock edge that makes the album well worth a listen."
Its an AMAZING album !! ;)

"The Moffatts have been absent from the UK's music industry for some time.Their last release "Misery" was in October 1999, and it didn't do well at all. I've ADORED them since 1998 and have been dying for this album to be released in the UK! I couldn't wait that long though so I bought it from Canada and I was so amazed when I played it. "Submodalities" -their new album has definitely brought a whole new look and sound to The Moffatts; they are no longer the pop rock/gentle sound they were before. This album has lots of different sounds and structures-with help from Bob Rock who produced this album. I totally love this album and can't stop playing it. I like it because each song is different and unique and Dave,Clint,Scott and Bob take it in turns to sing leads (although Clint and Bob only sing one lead each). Each track displays a lot of hard work and time getting the pieces for the song together. Each song blasts you away with quality music and pure talent. Just when you try to catch a breath, 2 hidden tracks boom out of your speakers showing a different sound once again. If you're thinking this album will be like Chapter I: A New Beginning (their last album) then you are totally wrong. If you compared Chapter I, with Submodalities you'd think each album was done by two different artists!! Submodalities is extremely different to Chapter I which was more poppy. The Moffatts said Chapter I was "more pop music than anything but that's what we liked at the time and Submodalities is to show the change and express our new sound."Submodalities actually means anything to do with a visual change of image. This album has "amped-up-guitars,lush Brit-rock textures and a sometimes soft sometimes squalling sonic adventurousness! This album will demolish any stereotypical or preconceptions you have had about The Moffatts and you'll look at them in a different light. Scott, Clint, Bob and Dave's voices blend so well together and so smoothly that it's something which can only be achieved by brothers. This CD should be in everyone's collection!! Forget what you've heard about them before, BUY THIS!! You won't be disapointed!!Its quality music by extremely talented guys.FORGET WHAT YOU'VE HEARD ABOUT THEM BEFORE~PLEASE GIVE THEM A CHANCE!"
