Modern Life was conceived in Sydney by brothers Mike Sutherland (drums), Dean Sutherland (bass), and their counterpart Warwick Scott (guitar). This was the distinctive rhythm combination responsible for the internationally successful group Skunkhour. It is Modern Life's new recordings and the member's history that is causing such a stir of interest within the industry. Their material is bold and imaginative. Their sound is their own, though traces of new wave rock groups can be heard - The Police, Roxy Music, The Cars, and UK 's Squeeze. These influences, combined with a three pronged guitar attack, create uplifting melodic pop rock. Modern Life are signed to local label Difrnt Music. The band released their debut EP Modern Life last October.
