Coming up short

"When I heard about this record, it excited the hell out of me. All I could think about was a DKM version of Suburban Rebels, and Micky Fitz doing Barroom Hero. And then I got the CD. Informer is a good song yes, but come on, how about Drinkin and Drivin. I did, however, appreciate, some of the songs. The Kids Are Alright gives me the chills whenever I hear it, wheteher it's the Who, DKM, or even Pearl Jam. And Slapshot, well, The Business couldn't have picked a better Boston band to cover. Boys on the Docks was a mistake though, because it just shows how things aren't the same with Al. He rocks, but Mike McCollgan made me wanna piss myself everytime I heard him sing. live or on recordings. If your strapped for cash, and looking to get a record by either band, get The Singles Collection for DKM and something like Suburban Rebels by the Business"
Good but not great

"1st off let me start out by saying that i'm a big fan of both the murphys and the business. now with that out of the way onto my bashing of the people who are bashing the business in their reviews (i'll get to the murphys in a minute). the business are one of the 1st and the longest running brittish oi! bands around and are still putting out great music today (their most recent album,1997 the truth, the whole truth... is their best in years if not ever!)the business happen to be a mice group a guys and always pack a crowd to a show when they play. most of you probably think the business are new at this or just another brittish rip off but your probably the same person that thinks nofx rules and blink-182 sucks even though they are both pop punk crap! like another reviewer said this should've had the murphys cover tunes like suburban rebels (go check out the reviews for that album and some loser says the album sound like a 80's techno dance album more than a oi! album),southgate, loud proud and punk, harry may or the classic drinkin' and drivin' but instead they do the rarer business tunes and informer off their latest! i also wish the business would've covered better murphys tunes too...just imagine if they re-did stuff like barroom hero or memories remain or even skinhead! the other covers by other bands are ok (i like the who cover and the faces cover is ok as is the slapshot one)the title track is the best on here though but did they need to add the 7" version too? the only difference is that the 7" has them chanting oi! oi! oi!. also... in case you didn't know this wasn't ment to be a full cd it was only planned to be a 7" and was originaly released as that. also...al has been in the band for a few years now and has done way more with this band then mike has ever done (mike also left because of the heavy touring and he didn't agree with some of the stuff he was singing!). al is ok with me and wait until you hear him on the new album sing loud, sing proud (out feb.6th 2001!)it rocks and comes close to do or die and will blow all the al bashers away! al's version of boys on the docks isn't that bad (he does caps and bottles on the new one!)the old stuff sounds alot better live than on album i will admit to that! check out the new album and stop hating al and before you disrespect the business why not go out and buy suburban rebels, keep the faith or the truth...!"
