It's often the case in these sort of things where you wax lyrical about how a band has toiled and worked hard to get to the position where they can do a debut release through a popular record label. This does not apply to Misery, who formed in March 2006. Soon after their inception, a demo track was posted on their Myspace page. Jamie Farrell of Thirty Days Of Night Records happened to hear this demo, and immediately convinced the band to join the growing legions of TDON (Bring Me The Horizon, Azriel, Eternal Lord). The recording of A State Of Suffering was completed over the summer, with the debut MCD set to drop in early November. The band initially formed to breathe life into the stagnant UK black metal scene, which has seemingly become preoccupied with image over substance, and their relentless approach to songwriting on such songs as 'Dishonour Thy Father, Pigs' is a clear statement of intent. This is not nice music for nice people, it is depraved noise for perverts and freaks.
